About Me

I am a wife, mother of two, and a CareerMama who has gone Primal. After having my second child, I found it difficult to lose the last 15 pounds of baby fat. My usual regimen of counting calories and circuit training just wasn’t cutting it. I was starting to doubt that the method of losing weight that had worked for me in the past was the right one for me today. My husband began reading The Primal Blueprint, and after reading about 1/3 of the book, he decided to try the diet. I, however, remained skeptical. There was no way I could give up pizza and pasta. And I didn’t like very many vegetables.

After being on the diet for only a couple of weeks, my husband’s pants were looser on him and he reported a weight loss of about 4-5 pounds. My desire to fit into my jeans forced me to take the plunge and try the diet for myself. After only 2 weeks on the diet, I also noticed a change. I lost 3 pounds and was beginning to lose some of the stomach fat I had accumulated during pregnancy. I have been on the diet for about 6 weeks now and have gone down one dress size. In a few more weeks, or perhaps a month, I should be back into my beloved skinny jeans.

You can have grilled cheese

My husband found a great recipe for bread made with flax seed meal. I haven't had a grilled cheese sandwich (or any kind of sandwich for that matter) in over a month, so I thought it would be worth a shot. The bread turned out well, though it did end up being a touch sweet for savory sandwiches.

It is sort of a pan bread that contains a bit of coconut oil. I think I may try to make the same bread with olive oil instead and see if that removes the sweetness.

It was still nice to be able to have a grilled cheese sandwich, after such a long time. And, my 3 year old loved the bread. I will try this bread with some almond butter and a drizzling of honey. That should be fantastic.
